Golden Knights Advance to Stanley Cup Final for Second Straight Season

The Vegas Golden Knights are headed back to the Stanley Cup Final for the second consecutive season after defeating the Colorado Avalanche in four games in the Western Conference Final.

Vegas completed the sweep behind one of the NHL’s most balanced postseason performances. Through three playoff rounds, the Golden Knights averaged 3.64 goals per game while allowing just 2.43 goals against per contest. Their plus-19 goal differential ranks among the best of the remaining playoff teams

The Golden Knights controlled play throughout the postseason with consistent production across all four lines. Vegas had eight players record at least 10 playoff points entering the Stanley Cup Final, led by Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner.

Marner recorded 21 points in 16 playoff games, while Eichel added 18 points and continued to lead the team in even-strength scoring chances created. Mark Stone also returned during the Western Conference Final and immediately contributed offensively and defensively against Colorado’s top line.

Vegas’ defensive structure was equally important during the conference final matchup. The Golden Knights held Colorado, a team that finished the regular season with 95 points, to just seven total goals in the four-game series.

Goaltender Carter Hart posted a .924 save percentage during the Western Conference Final and consistently limited Colorado’s scoring chances. Vegas also limited Colorado’s power play opportunities, keeping one of the league’s top offenses from generating consistent momentum.

One of the defining moments of the series came in Game 3 when the Golden Knights erased a 3-0 first-period deficit before scoring five unanswered goals in a 5-3 victory. The comeback gave Vegas a 3-0 series lead and shifted the series firmly in their favor.

The Golden Knights now become one of the few teams in the salary cap era to reach the Stanley Cup Final in consecutive seasons. Since entering the NHL in 2017, Vegas has reached the Stanley Cup Final three times in nine seasons.

Vegas also finished the regular season among the NHL leaders in several key categories, including goals against average, penalty kill percentage, and shot differential. That consistency has carried directly into the postseason.

The Golden Knights will now look to become the NHL’s first repeat Stanley Cup champion since the Tampa Bay Lightning won back-to-back titles in 2020 and 2021.

With balanced scoring, strong defensive play, and consistent goaltending, Vegas enters the Stanley Cup Final as one of the league’s most statistically complete teams.
