EHC Die Bären Neuwied: Dominant Leaders

Record: 14 GP, 32 pts (10-2-2)

The defending powerhouse Die Bären have picked up exactly where they left off, continuing to play a relentless brand of hockey this season. Their puck-possession game has been elite, and they’ve maintained a balanced offensive attack, generating consistent scoring while suffocating opponents on the defensive end. Leading the way offensively is Michael Jamieson with a strong 14 goals, followed closely by Jeff Smith, who has contributed 12 goals and 12 assists, and Juuso Rajala, who has been the engine of the offense with 20 assists. Relentless scoring from all four lines has propelled Die Bären to the top of the league standings. In net, goaltending has been rock solid, with Jonas Gaehr serving as the primary starter and making timely saves that swing momentum in their favor. This surge has firmly established Neuwied as the clear early favorite, setting the pace for the rest of the league.

Snackpoint Eaters Limburg

Record: 15 GP, 32 pts (11-3-1)

Limburg has put together an impressive season so far, frequently finding ways to score in bunches. They’ve shown they can compete with top teams across the league, but occasional lapses in execution have prevented them from sustaining consistent point streaks. When their skill players are clicking, they become extremely difficult to slow down. The Snackpoint Eaters boast high-impact individual talent, led by Yevgen Fadyeyev, who tops the league in assists with 27 and leads his team in points with 32. Mike Collard has also been a major contributor, leading the team in goals with 16 and providing a strong scoring presence. Limburg capitalizes on the opportunities they’re given and consistently uses them to their advantage.

UltimAir Hijs Hokij

Record: 15 GP, 31 pts (11-3-1)

UltimAir Hijs Hokij has been extremely efficient and competitive in every game they’ve played this season. With Matias Mustonen leading the team in goals with 13 and Raymond van der Schuit collecting 19 assists, the team is well positioned for continued success. Their defensive structure has been strong, consistently limiting opponent opportunities, while they make the most of their chances in transition. With each game, the team continues to learn and grow, building chemistry and executing smoother plays on the ice. Overall, they manage the flow of the game effectively.

Liège Bulldogs

Record: 14 GP, 27 pts (9-4-1)

The Bulldogs have established themselves as the league’s most exciting offensive team. With the league’s point leader on their roster, they consistently make defenders pay for loose pucks and split-second decisions. Bryan Kolodziejczyk leads the way with 36 points this season, a staggering total that makes him vital to the team’s success. With 11 goals and 25 assists, Kolodziejczyk has a knack for finding the best scoring opportunities and capitalizing on them. Their clean breakouts generate high-quality chances, though inconsistency on the defensive end has kept them from climbing higher in the standings. Overall, their speed in transition and counterattacks gives them a clear edge to defending the Belgium Cup and maybe even going further into playoffs.

Tout Bien Leuven Chiefs

Record: 14 GP, 18 pts (6-7-1)

The Chiefs have battled hard this season but have struggled to consistently finish plays. They often remain competitive early in games, but lapses in defensive-zone coverage have resulted in costly goals against. Improvements in puck support and overall defensive structure could help them climb the standings. The team’s grit and effort are being driven by top contributors such as Brett Roloson, who leads the team in goals with 9, and Alec James, who leads in assists with 10. While they’re still searching for consistency, the Chiefs’ potential is extremely evident.

Unis Flyers Heerenveen

Record: 14 GP, 16 pts, (5-7-2)

The Flyers currently sit in the middle of the league standings, grinding out games with structure and energy. Matchups against top teams have kept them competitive and pushed their key players, Jasper Nordemann with 22 points and Justus Mikkonen with 20 points , to elevate their play. If their offense can find greater consistency, they could easily develop into a team capable of topping the league. They play an aggressive style, highlighted by Nordemann leading the league in penalty minutes with 47, which underscores their physical presence. With a more balanced effort across every period, the Flyers could better showcase their strengths.

Looking Ahead

The first half of the CEHL season has delivered plenty of excitement, from Die Bären’s dominance to the Bulldogs’ electric offense. As teams shift their focus toward playoff positioning, depth, discipline, and goaltending will play a defining role in determining who makes a late-season push. Expect tighter games and sharper strategic adjustments as the league races into the second half.
