SALT LAKE CITY — Shea Theodore scored at 19:08 of overtime, lifting the Vegas Golden Knights to a 5–4 win against the Utah Mammoth in Game 4 of their Western Conference First Round series at Delta Center on Monday.

The win allowed Vegas to even the series at 2–2.

The Golden Knights overcame a two-goal deficit in regulation and completed the comeback in sudden death. Vegas outshot Utah 36–31 and went 0-for-3 on the power play.

“It’s ups and downs,” Mitch Marner said. “It’s a roller-coaster ride throughout games. There’s lead changes. Just, the rhythm of games can change quickly. But I like how we just stayed with our game plan, stayed resilient, kept throwing pucks to the net, getting guys there.”

Back-and-Forth Battle in Regulation

Vegas struck first just 1:12 into the game when Pavel Dorofeyev opened the scoring, assisted by Ivan Barbashev and Jack Eichel.

The Golden Knights built a 3–0 lead in the second period, but Utah responded with pressure and momentum swings throughout the middle frame.

Utah completed its comeback in the third period, adding a tying goal to briefly take control after trailing earlier in the game. Michael Carcone and Clayton Keller were key contributors in the rally, but Vegas responded late in regulation with a crucial third-period goal to force overtime, sending the game into a 4–4 tie.

Utah finished the game with a strong third-period push and consistent net-front pressure, but Vegas goaltending held through the final minutes of regulation.

Theodore Delivers in Overtime

Both teams traded chances in overtime in a tightly contested extra frame. Vegas ultimately broke through at 19:08 of overtime when Theodore scored the game-winner, jumping into the rush and finishing from the high slot.

The goal marked Theodore’s second point of the night and sealed a pivotal road victory for Vegas.

Series Shifts to Game 5

The best-of-seven series is now tied 2–2, with Game 5 set for Las Vegas.

Vegas will look to carry momentum moving forward, while Utah returns home having pushed the defending Stanley Cup contenders to the limit in each of the last two games.

Both teams have alternated wins through four games, setting up what has become a tightly contested series defined by late-game execution and shifting momentum.
