The Liège Bulldogs have once again etched their name into Belgian hockey history, winning the Belgian Cup for the second consecutive season with a resounding performance. They capped their impressive cup campaign with a convincing 6–1 victory over HYC Herentals.

In the showpiece match of the Belgian Cup, held Feb. 7, 2026, the Bulldogs displayed superior offensive firepower and defensive discipline. Liège struck early and never looked back, controlling the pace from the opening whistle while stifling the Herentals attack. The 6–1 scoreline reflected not only their offensive depth but also their tactical maturity, as they outclassed one of Belgium’s most traditional hockey rivals.

Much of their season prepared this team for this moment. For the 2025–26 season, multiple Bulldogs skaters were among the league’s top performers.

Anthony Gagnon led the team by tallying 20 goals across CEHL competitions this season.

Bryan Kolodziejczyk paced the Bulldogs in assists (31) and total points (38), providing elite playmaking and consistent offensive contributions.

Teammate Logan Denoble also made a significant impact throughout the season with 16 goals, showcasing the depth of Liège’s attacking corps.

These individual performances helped the Bulldogs compete at a high level throughout the regular CEHL season while carrying that momentum into the Belgian Cup knockout rounds.

Road To The CEHL Championship

The Bulldogs’ Belgian Cup journey was marked by a series of commanding results, beginning with competitive wins at the start of the season, such as their overtime win Dec. 5 against UltimAir Hijs Hokij.

This cup triumph marks the second year in a row that Liège has lifted the Belgian Cup, reinforcing a mini-dynasty in Belgian hockey. The momentum they carried from their 2024–25 title has now transformed into dominating performances throughout the 2025–26 campaign.

For the Bulldogs, the Belgian Cup is now firmly part of their modern legacy. With core contributors continuing to produce at elite levels, Liège fans have plenty to be excited about as the team pushes toward the CEHL championship race.
